A cropping is a spanking with a crop. A cropping may be administerd with the spankee in the over-the-knee (OTK) position, or with the spankee bent over touching toes or knees, or bent over a piece of furniture. It may also be administered in the diaper position.

A cropping is considered to consist of more "sting" and less "thud", like a switching and unlike a paddling. Because of the relative thinness of a crop, the spanker must be careful not to cut the flesh or do serious damage if the crop strokes are administered with heavy force.

Croppings are most popular in BDSM scenarios. They are also popular in pony play.
