[edit] Interview
Spankart: Hello Barbossasdaughter, or may I call you Sandy? It's my pleasure to welcome you as the first female interviewee here at the Spanking Art wiki. You're from Luxembourg, right? I've had a flying visit to your small but beautiful country last year.
- Barbossasdaughter: Yeah, you may call me Sandy. That's how I like to be called. So first female interviewee. Wow. I am honored, but I am certainly not the only female artist. Luxembourg, a small country indeed. I am happy you liked it. It may be little, and many people are special, but the country has some beautiful places. If ever one of you comes here, just write me and I get you a free tour from me^^
S: Would you like to share some more personal information about you?
- B: Well I am 19 years old, I still live with my parents and I study to become a social worker or educator. My hobbies: writing, drawing, music and spanking.
S: At what age did you realize you had a fascination with spanking? How did that come about?
- B: First of all, I was never spanked by any of my parents. I realized at about 11 or 12 that I was interested in spanking. I liked to watch spanking scenes in cartoons and films, even to hear and watch if someone was threatened to be spanked. It was at that time when I wrote and drew first spanking pics and stories. I was ashamed for my interest and thought I wasn't normal. I even thought it would only be interesting for a certain time, but the interest grew with age.
S: Has the Internet had a major impact on you?
- B: For sure. It's now a year ago, I believe, when I found AnimeOTK. I never before searched on the net about spanking. English isn't my mother tongue, so I mostly wrote in German. Then I discovered the meaning of spanking and that was like a new door opened for me on the net. I discovered others with the same interests and realized I wasn't that weird.
S: What languages do you speak?
- B:I can speak French, German, English and my mother tongue Luxemburgish. A mix of German and French mostly. Sounds like Dutch.
S: Can you tell us more about your writing and drawing? Did you start writing stories and then illustrating them - or did you begin with drawings and then expanded them with dialogues and stories?
- B: I began drawing actually and then expanded to write dialogues and stories. It was all in my head and sometimes I just had to draw it to make space for new ideas. Of course I only drew it for myself at that time. But now for everyone.
S: Is the spankee in your works always you, i.e. fictional alter egos of yourself?
- B: Yes, it is always me. My inner child who's always with me. And of course fictional characters of my stories or roleplays. I like to be the spankee and could hardly see me as the spanker. Ony if I was asked and the person who does ask would be important to me.
S: I browsed your drawings on AnimeOTK. Can you provide some background information on the characters and settings? Let's begin with your big and, it seems, favourite setting and storyline, the "Pirates of the Caribbean".
- B: Oh yes, Pirates are my favourite storyline. I do love Barbossa and Davy as much as an father or uncle. I imagined stories with them and thought: Why shouldn't the bad guys have one to love? Then went also the combination with spanking and I found that Barbossa and Davy would be just perfect. Stern, strong and lovable. There is my inner child who also seeks comfort near strong guys.
S: Do the settings and characters in your drawings usually come from online roleplaying?
- B: Yes, sometimes they do come from online roleplaying too. But mostly they are just stuck in my head and evolve during the plays.
S: How did you learn to draw in comic/cartoon style?
- B: I never really learned to draw. It's like a gift I have. In my families there were people who drew, so I inherited it. As for the rest, it's all about practising and a lot of time. It's like the love of my life. Every free minute I spend drawing and gaining perfection. Even in school I do draw in the lessons.
S: By the way, you have a cute way of giving your spanking implements names as if they were persons...
- B: Oh, so you like the names? That makes me happy. Well, it's kinda like I imagine myself as a little child and I would be terrified if my fantasy family would threaten me with Mister Spank-Spank or a Mister Spanky. It's more loveable and as you said it's as if they are persons. Kinda helper for the spanker to spank me.
S: What about your other settings/characters - Jim for example. With some googling I found that he must be prison officer Jim Fenner from the British TV series Bad Girls, right?
- B: Yeah, I do like my other charas too. He is a prison officer and a real bad one. Hehe. But I do believe in the good of every evil. It's how my mood is at the moment. Either I am in a Pirate mood or other mood. And when I surf around for inspiration and look at pics I ask myself: Which character will best fit in this context and position?
S: Now I'm beginning to get it - the setting/characters are always taken from a mainstream film, cartoon or TV series, and the "Sandy" character is newly introduced: same with Darkwing Duck, Star Wars, Ratatouille, etc! So you're kind of on the lookout for potential spanker characters, who'd make credible strict, strong, no-nonsense disciplinators for Sandy?
- B: Well, that would be my actual English teacher, hehe. As for real-life-spanker. As for fictional spankers: Barbossa, Davy, Jim, Hook, Chef Skinner and Anton Ego... for the moment. I also am now in a Dragon Quest monster mood.
S: And little Sandy always and everywhere gets her naughty bottom in trouble...
- B: Oh yes, she always gets herself in trouble. She is that cute but handful little bundle that everyone can love and... well, spank too. Sandy is a part of myself, a part that was never really shown, but is deep inside me.
S: When little Sandy gets punished in your stories and drawings - is it well-deserved (is she really such a bad girl), or is she just unlucky and happens to get into trouble by coincidence and bad luck, and because of her overly strict authority figures? Do you feel the spankings are just or unjust?
- B: I think they are just. She is testing her limits more than once and her fathers are very strict. She likes to tease and to fight but well... she's just a naughty girl who gets too far. Hehe. And if she gets older, like 12 or so, she gets cocky and tries to feel more mature. But she isn't, of course.
S: How old do you imagine little Sandy to be? She looks quite small.
- B: Yeah, she's little for her age. I tend to imagine her 6 or 7.
S: What's your views on real-life spanking of children?
- B: Well, I often think that sometimes very bad children need a spanking. Of course I make a difference between spanking and beating. I mean some discipline wouldn't harm them. Of course I would try to speak to them first and then spank them as a last resort.
S: Well, let's go back to fiction. Where can we read some of your stories?
- B: I uploaded one or two in the stories section of AnimeOTK. If there is anyone who likes to read more, I have plenty of them on papers here at home.
S: Would you like to tell us some more about your spanking roleplaying? Do you also like to use TV/film settings as a universe for them?
- B: It's kinda when I discover something I like, I do like to roleplay it too, to get inspiration for my fort or simply to get myself relieved. When I roleplay it's like my own private stress cure. I can be whatever I want and how I like to be. In real life I often have to be quiet, work hard and be reponsible.
S: Where do you roleplay? How do you find play partners?
- B: I mostly roleplay on AnimeOTK, but also on MSN. I suggest to my friends from AnimeOTK mostly my new ideas and ask if it's alright for them. I sometimes post ideas in the recruitment section, but I don't often have responses there. I know my fantasy is very special. Hehe.
S: Do you also like roleplaying in real life? Do you ageplay?
- B: I would like to play in real life too, and ageplay too, but unfortunatly I can't. I live with my parents and don't have a boyfriend. And Luxembourg is small and I didn't meet someone with the same interest.
S: In that case I'm sure you'll not have to wait for much longer for some interesting (and not-so-interesting) offers! ;) What are you up to next? Any works in progress, or planned projects?
- B: Yeah, maybe, hehe. Well, I plan to do more comics and to draw more, of course. I also plan a Dragon Quest Monster drawing with our beloved Sandy of course. Hope that it will please.
S: Thank you very much for this insightful interview, Sandy. I wish you all the best in your studies, creative hobbies, as well as your private life, and maybe we'll meet next time I come to Luxembourg!
- B: It was my pleasure, Spankart. I was very happy to do so. Thanks. See you here in Luxembourg, hehe.
