The leg is the lower limb of the human body, extending from the hip to the ankle, and including the thigh, the knee, and the cnemis.

In colloquial language, leg sometimes refers to the cnemis only (the part of the lower limb that lies between the knee and the ankle, of which the back portion is known as the calf and the front portion is known as the shin).

Legs are often used for standing, walking, jumping, running, kicking, and similar activities, and are a significant portion of a person's mass. The largest bone in the human body, the femur, is in the leg.

At the back upper part of the thigh, each leg connects with one of the two buttocks. In the region between the legs are the genitals, the perineum and the anus.
