Lingerie

Lingerie is women's fashion undergarments. While the term in the French language applies to all undergarments for either gender, in English it is applied only to those women's undergarments designed to be visually appealing and "sexy" (erotic, sexually arousing) for the person who wears it or for a person who sees it worn on another person.
Lingerie typically incorporates materials such as Lycra, nylon (nylon tricot), polyester, satin, lace and/or silk. The English term lingerie (unlike the French) is not applied to functional cotton undergarments (although these, naturally, may be found appealing or erotic by people as well).

In spanking sessions, lingerie worn by the spankee, if female, often emphasizes the parts of the body that have a high relevance for spanking acts, such as the buttocks and thighs.
Examples:
- panties (various types)
- stockings
- garter belts
- corsets
In erotic spanking, the spanker, if female, may also wear lingerie, despite the fact that states of (semi-) undress aren't stereotypically dominant. The stereotypical dominatrix is often seen wearing black or red lingerie.
