Miniskirts are a form of short skirt commonly associated with fetish clothing.
Historically, miniskirts first appeared after World War I, although didn't become mainstream until approximately the 1960s, returning again in the 1980s following a fall from fashion in the 1970s. Unlike traditional skirts, miniskirts - whilst socially accepted in many North American and European cultures - are still seen as highly sexual and provocative. Due to this, miniskirts are commonly made of leather, although sometimes denim is used as well. In spanking scenarios, however, traditional skirts are preferred in many instances, especially when role playing, as miniskirts are not part of many traditional costumes or uniforms.
