The Spanking Art Studio was a web group for active spanking artists (especially newcomers and hobby artists) to give and get constructive critique on their works. Founded by Spankart in 2002, the group moved several times in the following years. In the beginning it was a Yahoo! group, later it moved to SmartGroups.

Soon after it was launched, the group became a closed membership group and only active artists were invited to join, no lurkers. Hundreds of original new spanking artworks by artists such as Aluzrin, Cocleshell, JPC, Drooaygah, Flatt, Franco, Oscar, Spankart and Toma were shared and discussed in the Spanking Art Studio.
Some artists also shared work in progress that allowed interesting insight in the creative process and the individual steps from a pencil sketch to a finished, colorized image or comic page.

SmartGroups terminated their service in December 2006, closing all groups. The Spanking Art Studio ended as an official group and its members switched to sending normal e-mails with attachments to each other.
