Spanking Art talk:Nonviolence policy
From Spanking Art
Why is Florida law referenced? Wikia is a Delaware corporation headquartered in California. - IRS Form 1023 02:14, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
- You are right, we should change it to Delaware law. This wiki was founded in 2005 when Wikia was incorporated in Florida, but they moved to Delaware in 2006. I'll change this. Spankart 12:17, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] ...And, what about this article?

It seems that this page is rather at odds with the rest of it, no? I gathered that this Wiki was NOT supposed to advocate spanking of real children in any way? I'm not very comfortable with the book links contained on the other page for obvious reasons. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by RobM (talk • contribs) 13:51, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
- Of course this wiki does not advocate spanking of real children. We have an article pro-spanking which explains the meaning of this term. We also have an article anti-spanking that explains the meaning of that term. We also have articles such as crime, abuse, violence, judicial corporal punishment, etc. - this does not mean we advocate any of these. We're an encyclopedia and our articles describe such terms in a neutral, encyclopedic way.
- The book links are no violation of our nonviolence policy, in my eyes. We can and should also start a similar list of anti-spanking books in the other article (which will probably quickly grow much longer than the pro-spanking one as there are much more anti-spanking publications). What's not permissible is pro-spanking POV in the article namespace (such as "Spanking of children is okay"). If you come across any non-neutral wording, please edit it. Proper quotations ("According to XYZ, spanking of children is okay" / "According to XYZ, spanking of children is not okay") are NPOV and therefore allowed - this is what our nonviolence policy says.
